Gifts & Zach's quilt

Bruce (my nephew) and Roxanne came by yesterday and this is what they brought me!!!

They made the reindeer and my rooster hanger.  Love them.  Goes perfect in my country home!

I made our grandson, Zachary, a quilt and pillow for Christmas.  Since he doesn't look at my blog, I feel safe posting a picture.

Drunkard's Path & Chevron Quilts

This is my niece, Paula's drunkard's path which I quilted "modern" -- absolutely no, I mean, NO feathers:

My great-niece, Meagan, got married on June 28, 2014.  The tables were decorated with banners.  My niece, Paula, took the banners and made this chevron quilt.  Note that I quilted their names and the date of marriage in one of the white chevrons.  Don't know how much it will show.

I know it looks white but it is robin's egg blue.

This is a long post but it has been some time since my last post so I'm just catching up.

Primitive Gatherings Quilt & Wasp Nests

In June I took this picture of a nest on our dormer:

Not very large and we didn't know what type of nest it was.  But it has now grown to this:

And we have learned that it is black wasp.  The exterminator is coming tomorrow to eliminate it.

Many moons ago I bartered with Barb for this quilt kit.  It is now finished:

I love it!  Thank you, Barb, for not liking applique!

Tree of Life

I have finished my version of Edyta Sitar's tree of life.  I added the oak leaf and crows.  I also bordered it with migrating geese using Deb Tucker's instruction sheet.  All made from scraps.  Not one thing purchased for this quilt.  I promise my fabric is like little bunnies -- breeding and multiplying.  I have been working on scrap quilts and still don't miss any fabric!!!!

The binding hasn't been hand stitched to the back yet but otherwise it is finished!!!  I like that word:
F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D!!!

So Much Fun!!

I have been making GFG blocks.  I never thought I would like English paper piecing but I LOVE it!  It is so relaxing.  And this is the quilt I have started:

What to name it?????  Granny's Irish Jig?  Grandmother's Irish Chain?  I wasn't sure about the grey background fabric.  I ordered it from Green Fairy Quilts.  It is a Moda solid.  It looked like a softer grey on the computer but it has a touch of brown to it.  I was really disappointed when I got it, but it has grown on me and I like it now.
I have this on the longarm now.  It is my take on Edyta Sitar's Tree of Life Quilt.  I had to try Deb Tucker's migrating geese for the border.

Well, you can't see the trees but they are there plus a Oak ring block in the triangles.  Will get better pictures when it is finished.

This quilt has taken me much too long -- with weather and life, in general getting in the way.  But I really like how it turned out.  Hope Deb does, too!

Our guild had a batik exchange and this is how Deb used her batiks.  Now she is giving it away to a childhood friend!  Lucky lady receiving this!
