Another Vintage Quilter is smiling!

Pat, my niece, found this lovely top at a flea market or antique store.  The baskets were hand pieced but the sashing was sewn on by machine.  Wonder if two people worked on this?????  But it is now quilted and ready for binding.  Whoever made this has to be smiling to know that someone cared enough to finish what she had started.  Geez, I feel sorry for those who have to finish all my UFOs but I will definitely be smiling to see them finished!

I recognized (yes, I am that OLD!!) some feedsacks in the baskets so it has to be before the 1950s.

Hope everyone has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Urban Nine Patch

I had to try a pattern by Jenny Pedigo (I think that is her last name) of Sew Kind of Wonderful using her curved ruler.  This is my Urban Nine Patch:

This was on the longarm much too long but it is completely finished.  I made a faux piped binding using some of the solids.  I'm pleased with it.  It is a happy quilt.
Thank you, God, for providing us with a sunny day.  We have had clouds for-e-v-e-r!!!!
HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!
