It rained all day yesterday but this is what I woke up to this morning.  Isn't it beautiful!!!  I love the snow on the trees.  This is the view from our dining room.

I finished Barb's quilt.  I love homespuns!!!  With the snow, it just makes you want to snuggle up under this quilt.  Oh, and I think I finished all my little 4" baskets.  I say "think" because I have made 211 and if I go with the quilt in the pattern (Crazy Bet by Bonnie Blue Quilts) it finishes at 79" x 79" and calls for 202 little baskets.  I was going to make mine king size but I think I have had enough of these little baskets and will just finish it to 79" square and on to another project!!!  Now to sew all those little baskets into 4s.

One finished

I know, I know.  This is such a small item to say one finished, but, hey, a little finished project is as good as a large one because it removes an UFO!
This is the baby quilt I've made for my great niece.  Odd colors, I know.  The flowers were sewn on with long arm.  Now I need to wash it so they will fluff up and then it is on its way to Florida.

My husband & I have been putting down hardwood floor in our master bedroom.  Still like doing the door to the hall and putting down quarter round, but the end is in sight.  We have been working on this since Monday.  Needless to say, we are both exhausted.  I think we will hire someone to lay the hardwood floor in the den and other bedrooms!!!  We were sweating it at the end because it looked like we were running out of wood, but, luckily, we had enough!!  One picture shows all the wood we had left.

I need a rest and the longarm is calling me!!  I haven't had a fix in over a week!

BOM 2011 and other projects

I said the one quilt I wanted to start this year was The Quilt Show's BOM (http://www.thequiltshow.com/) by Sue Garmon.  You have to join The Quilt Show and I'm not sure how much I pay per year for membership, but this is the third BOM I have done from their site.
The first month is the appliqued center which I cut out today.  The top photo is the quilt shown on The Quilt Show.  The name of the quilt is Ruffled Roses.  I have selected a chocolate brown Moda fabric by designer April Cornell called "Butterfly" as my primary fabric and will pull greens, blues, golds and reds to accompany it.  The photo makes it look black, but it is a pretty chocolate brown.  I have cut out the appliques so I can work on it at night.  The last photo shows the applique block.
I've also worked on my little 4" baskets -- 181 finished -- and have been quilting on Sherman's March which I am about half finished with the stablization.  Then I will go back and do the micro work.
I guess you can tell that I get bored doing just one thing!!!

Holidays Over

Is everyone as happy as I that the holidays are over and life gets back to normal????  The decorations are stored, my house is clean and I'm ready to start the New Year.  Tomorrow I will be back on my longarm (Matilda -- as in Waltzing Matilda) working on one of my UFOs.  I did work on Crazy Betts quilt yesterday.  I now have 181 4" baskets made!!!
