BLOCK NO. 11
FORTUNE STAR (WHEEL OF FORTUNE BLOCK)
Fabric 1 (white background):  Cut four squares 3-1/2”
                                Cut eight rectangles 2” x 3-1/2”
                                Cut one square 4-1/4”.  Subcut twice diagonally to make 4 triangles
Fabric 2 (red):  Cut two squares 4-1/4”.  Subcut twice diagonally to make 8 triangles
                                Cut eight squares 2”
                                Cut one square 6-1/2”
Fabric 3 (yellow):  Cut one square 4-1/4”.  Subcut twice diagonally to make 4 triangles
                                Cut four squares 2”
Let’s do the snowball block in the center first.  Using the connector square method, sew a Fabric #3 2” square in each corner.   This is your center:
Next, let's make the quarter squares.  We are experts by now!!  Make four of them like this:
Take the 2" x 3-1/2" rectangles and using the connector method, sew a fabric 3 square diagonally on each rectangle.  YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL HERE BECAUSE THEY SHOULD MAKE A BOWTIE WHEN LAID TOGETHER SO YOU MAKE 4 ONE DIRECTION AND REVERSE ON THE OTHER 4.  They should look like this:


Sew four units to make this:

Now just sew it together as shown in the block:
