Fabric No. 1 (dark red):
Cut one 4-1/2" square
Cut two 5" squares. Subcut these once diagonally to make 4 triangles
Cut two 5-1/4" squares. Subcut these twice diagonally to make 8 triangles
Fabric No. 2 (white):
Cut one 5-1/4" square. Subcut it twice diagonally to make 4 triangles
Cut four 3" squares. Subcut them once diagonally to make 8 triangles
Fabic No. 3 (pink):
Cut four 2-1/2" squares
Cut one 5-1/4" square. Subcut it twice diagonally to make 4 triangles.
Make four corner blocks using the eight fabric No. 2 triangles (from the 3" squares) and four fabric No. 3 2-1/2" squares. Once you have these sewn, sew them to the Fabric No. 1 triangles cut from the 5" squares. They should measure 4-1/2" when sewn together. You will have four of these:
Now make the quarter squares using two of Fabric No. 1 triangles and one of Fabric No. 2, and one from Fabric No. 3. You will make four of these (and they should measure 4-1/2")
Sew together as a nine patch:
