BLOCK NO. 10 - September

TUMBLING STAR
Fabric 1 (white):  Cut two squares 5".  Subcut once diagonally for 4 triangles
                            Cut one square 5-1/4".  Subcut twice diagonally for 4 triangles
Fabric 2 (dark red):  Cut one square 5".  Subcut once diagonally for 2 triangles
                             Cut one square 5-1/4".  Subcut twice diagonally for 4 triangles
Fabric 3 (pink):  Cut one square 5".  Subcut once diagonally for 2 triangles
                              Cut one square 5-1/4".  Subcut twice diagonally for 4 triangles
Fabric 4 (medium red in corners):  Cut 2 squares 5".  Subcut once diagonally for 4 triangles.

Make the corner units using the 4 triangles from Fabric 4 and 4 triangles from Fabric 1.  You will need four of these:

Make one quarter square unit for the center using Fabric 3 and Fabric 2 small triangles and you will have one of these:

Make two units using Fabric 2 large triangles and a fabric 3 small triangle sewn to a fabric 1 small triangle.  They should finish at 4-1/2" and you will have this:

Make two units using Fabric 3 large triangles and fabric 2 small triangle sewn to a fabric 2 small triangle.  You will have two of these:

Lay out your block and sew together as a nine patch.  It will look like this:
